HCL Safety – specialist in safety at height system design, installation, inspection, maintenance, fall protection training and product servicing – has released a white paper on the latest fall protection standards.

Injury or death resulting from falls is, sadly, still impacting too many UK workers. According to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) figures for fatal injuries in Great Britain for 2018-19, 40 workers suffered fatal injuries as a result of falling from height – that's 27% of all UK fatalities in the workplace.
This is why it is so important for fall protection equipment and processes to meet the latest requirements and follow all relevant best practice guidance. The latest revision of BS 7883 is a comprehensive best practice framework for those designing, installing, maintaining, inspecting and certifying anchor devices and systems used in personal fall protection regimes.

To help those specifying fall protection equipment, HCL Safety has published a guide to BS 7883, unpicking recommendations made in the recent update, and looking specifically at:
